Why Do We Need a Church?

Why do we need a Church? Because there are "keys" that we must receive and promises that we must make in order to progress in God's Plan of life.

Even Jesus needed to be Baptized. Knowing we too need that, He laid his hands on the Apostles heads and bestowed the “Keys” or The Power of His Priesthood upon them so that they could act in His name. Ordinances done like Baptism, Receiving the Holy Ghost, Marriage for Eternity (Not just “Death do you part”) with your children sealed to you forever must be done by one having the “keys’ of the Priesthood/authority. That’s why there are so many religions today! Good men assumed the power to organize a church. But, had no “Keys” or Authority to do so. “Faith without Works is dead”.

Matthew 16:18, 19: And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Our ancestors were of other faiths until the fullness of the Gospel was restored once again upon the earth!

We have record that God The Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith In the 1830’s and told him not to join any of the churches. . . that soon, John the Baptist, Peter, James and John would come back and restore the “keys” of the Priesthood to Joseph Smith and restore the Church of Jesus Christ, in these Latter-days, which they did.

Friends, because of Jesus and His sacrifice for us, We ALL will go to Heaven! But, what is Heaven? Jesus said in John 14: 2, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.’
Read the Bible: 1 Cor. 15: 40, “There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Truth is light. The better we life, the brighter the light!

There are actually three (3) kingdoms or degrees of Glory.
1. The Terrestrial Glory – like unto the star
2. The Telestial Glory – like unto the moon
3. The Celestial Glory – like unto the Sun. This is where God Dwells.

All of these kingdoms are better than this world and we will be happy there. But, which do you choose to live?

In order to live, or advance to a higher kingdom, one must be willing to live the laws of that kingdom!

This is why we cannot assume that just upon faith, we will deserve all that God Hath. "Faith without Works is dead."
James 2: 20, 26
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Our message to ALL is to “Come Unto Christ” He is "The Way"!
“Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God. Moroni 10:32

I have invited those who wish to know more about The Church of Jesus christ of Latter-day Saints and to discuss "Why We Need a Church".

So many friends express their faith and beliefs that "we just have t believe in Christ and we will be saved". Yes, that is true!
But, there is a bigger picture of life to know about. Scripture says, "Those who seek shall find." "Those who Knock it shall be opened up unto you." There are also commandments that we are to live. By doing so, the rewards are "Out of this world"!

It is hard sometimes to share precious things. They are NOT Secret...but, Sacred. But, I do so for "I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ"!

I want to be able to live where Jesus and Heavenly Father live. That's why I have my sights set on the Celestial Kingdom. Took one more step closer to it on September 5 this year when my husband and I were sealed in the Detroit, MI temple, and had our 8 year old daughter sealed to us for time and all eternity. People talk about "hell". Well, "hell" for me would be to be separated from Heavenly Father and the rest of my family for eternity. NOW is the time to make the determination of where you want to live in the after life. Don't wait until it's too late!

Thanks, Alan! We did have happy faces that day. It was the day of our daughter's baptism, April 19, 2009, and my husband was able to perform her baptism and confirmation. :o) It was a great day. And wasn't it great that I wore a white shirt so that it looks like we are all all in white? LOL Didn't plan it that way, but it just worked out that way!

I know these verses well that you qoute, you've done an excelent job in your writing here and very little that I would insert as it is very self explanitory and well written the only thing I would add is the Verse that I've Lived all my hardships with the Knowledge of knowing that The Lord well not give us more than we can bear It has made me strong knowing there's an end to Hardships and trials I've had friends tell me in the past that the feel the Lord is not listening to them what they don't realize is that good always comes to those who believe in the Lord even when the circumstances aren't adding up to be so they seek the physical goods that will perish when actually it is the inner strength of one that's being fine tuned during such trials were like unto the Lord's instruments here on earth and just like any refined mesician he's going to tune his instruments well Thank you very much Alan it helps to bring one to a deeper understanding when your open about your faith's and Beliefs about our religon ~Friends~4~Life~Francine~@
